Rouki is a nickname for Rokia in Mali, West Africa. This name was given to me by the women I met while I worked with the US Peace Corps for over two years. During the time I spent in Mali, I was amazed by these women’s beauty and skin care rituals. Despite the heat and dust they were able to maintain glistening skin and smell wonderful!

The textures of the bright red clay earth, the colors of their bold, vibrantly dyed cottons, the intricate twists of secret herbs, and the scents of spicy, pungent incense are just some of the impressions that stayed with me and what I want to bring to you.
